About Us

Kenneth's Story

Henry David Thoreau said, “Wealth is the ability to fully experience life.” This is one of my favorite quotes because it so eloquently represents what I want for each and every one of my clients.

This is who I am

My name is Kenneth W. Christian and I am a retired Philadelphia firefighter turned professional Investment Advisor. As President of Maplewood Financial Group, I am truly honored to work with individuals and families at all stages of life and financial planning for short- and long-term goals. Your financial success and security are my number one priority.

Experience

With proven industry-specific experience and strong dedication to public service, I lead the team responsible for all aspects of financial planning, including life insurance, estate planning, business finances, retirement planning, long-term care, annuities and more.

Working together with clients

Together, we have helped hundreds of clients build, monitor and protect their money through all types of economic conditions and life events. Combining advanced knowledge of financial best practices, patience, empathy and active listening skills, we serve as unbiased advocates—always advising based on our clients’ best interests.

Past financial experience

Prior to starting Maplewood Financial Group, I worked for Investment Advisors & Associates as a Financial Advisor from 2000-2012 . I was featured in Kiplinger’s 2019 summer issue as part of America’s Retirement Experts. And in 2009, I was named a Five-Star Wealth Manager in Philadelphia Magazine.

Born in Brighton Alabama and raised in Philadelphia, I earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance from LaSalle University. For 8 years, I taught Personal Financial Planning through the PASCEP program at Temple University. Today, I am a certified National Social Security Advisor and hold Series 65 and Life/Health Insurance Licenses. To further advance my education I am currently studying to become a Certified Financial Planner (CFP).

Personal

When I’m not assisting clients, I spend time reading and staying current on financial information. I enjoy traveling the world and giving back to the global community as an investor and board member of Ghana’s Bemuah Royal Hospital.
